Thursday and Thrilled: The Fairest Stationary

Thursday and Thrilled: The Fairest Stationary

Welcome to Thursday and Thrilled!

I’m going to attempt to make this a regular post on this blog. This will be a breakdown of things I’m currently thrilled with. It could be the book(s) I’m currently or going to be reading, or movies or TV shows I’m binging. Basically a breakdown of whatever I’m excited about at the moment!!

#FlashFicWed : The Fortune Cookie Made Me Do It!

FlashFicWed

It’s a little late, but I really wanted to do this today. As I sat down to participate in #FlashFicWed this week I realized how incredibly rusty I am at writing. Despite that feeling, I wrote anyway (trust me, this is a big accomplishment). I decided I was going to write read over it only twice (to check for misspellings and weird sentences) but I wasn’t allowed to delete anything. So this is what came out. I’m a little rusty, so any constructive criticism is welcome, but please be kind. 🙂

[Games] Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

For Christmas, my husband bought me Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMix. I have been so excited for this game having loved the originals for a long time and was eager to play through the game again.

For those who don’t know Kingdom Hearts is the story about a young boy named Sora, his best friends Riku and Kairi, and how their destinies swirl together while involving some of your favorite Disney characters and worlds. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX features three games: Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. I had already played and beaten the original Kingdom Hearts II. However, I had never played Birth by Sleep or Re:Coded. Shortly after Christmas I decided that I would give one of the games I hadn’t played before a try.

Fester, Fester, Fester…. Rut, Rut, Rut

I’ve been in a writing rut. I keep trying to pull myself out of it by doing tags (book and TV tags) or participating in weekly community features like 5 Fandom Fridays, but something is not clicking. I feel like this happens a lot when I start blogging. I’ll do really well for a while, then slowly I just stop. This repeated problem is really annoying me.

The worst part is pulling myself out of this rut. I want to write more, I have about a dozen half written posts on my drive but I just can’t bring myself to finish them. Part of me thinks they’re not ready to be forever on the internets, another part of me just wants them to be done so they can stop clogging up my drive.

In a rut, go talk to some food.

So I’m asking advice from those that will give it…

What keeps you writing? What is your best way to keep motivated and timely? I’ll take any advice you can give me.

Ear Worms: Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban sing “All I Ask of You”

I am a big fan of Broadway musicals. I’ve only seen a handful on a stage, but I’ve always enjoyed watching a story unfold with music. Phantom of the Opera is not my favorite musical. It’s beautiful and a classic, but ultimately not my favorite. However, one of my favorite songs from the musical is “All I Ask of You”.

Today, Entertainment Weekly posted this link to Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban singing this song and it is so beautiful I want to cry.

Take a listen!

I’m impressed with how well their voices blend and especially with Kelly’s performance.

What is one of your favorite duets?

Untouchable : Taylor Swift Book Tag

My friend Angel over at Mermaid Vision Books tagged me in a Taylor Swift Book tag. I was actually really excited to try it. Then I started writing down my answers and realizing that my reading collection is not as diverse as I wish it was. *sigh* Time to work on that. Be prepared for a lot of Meg Cabot

In the meantime, I tag Christa Mae at #ObsessiveGirlFan, Helen, Nikki at A Room of Ones Own , and Steph at NerdJoy and anyone else who would like to join (just send me a link so I can see the post)!

YAY BOOK TAGS!

5 Fandom Friday: My Comfort Films

5 Fandom Friday: My Comfort Films

This week’s 5 Fandom Friday topic is My Comfort Films. Usually when I’m in need of comfort I’m more likely to turn to a TV series than a movie. But, on the occasion that a movie is what I need these are the ones I choose.

5 Fandom Friday: My Fictional BFFs

5 Fandom Friday: My Fictional BFFs

This week’s 5 Fandom Friday topic is Fictional BFFs and OMG did I have a hard time narrowing it down. As someone who gets far too emotionally attached to fictional characters I tend to feel that every character is my BFF. To quote Mindy Lahiri: “Best Friend isn’t a person Danny, its a tier!” so to pick ONLY five was incredibly difficult. Read More
