Ten Sailor Scouts
Sailor Moon has been a fandom that I’ve been partially involved with. I don’t think I’ve never watched the series all the way through (though I do own season’s one and two on DVD), but Sailor Moon has always been fandom adjacent to the fandoms I enjoy.
I have a lot of amazing friends who LOVE Sailor Moon. One of them even gave me their extra copies of the first two seasons, but Sailor Moon was one of the first animes I’ve ever watched where I preferred to watch the capped version with the japanese voices, than to watched the dubbed. For whatever reason, the main voices in the dubbed version hits a part in my ear that makes me cringe. Because of this, I have to make sure that I’m not doing anything else while I watch it. Which can be difficult for me sometimes (it’s for that same reason that I sometimes get behind on Switched at Birth). Because of this, I’ve learned to greatly appreciate capped anime (which I don’t watch a ton of) over the dubbed.
My best friend and I used to watch episodes here and there when we could find them online, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually sat down and watched it all the way through. A few years ago, when Sailor Moon Crystal came out, I was stoked to try it, but found myself getting distracted again. It has nothing to do with the story as I love what I know of it, but I just need to sit down, turn off any electronic devices and watch.
One of the things I love the most about what I know of this series is the relationships between all the scouts. A group of girls who kick ass and take down bad guys? Sign me up!
