Thursday and Thrilled: Purple Hair, Don’t Care!

I’m so ready for the weekend! Getting my hair done and a writing day with my writing buddy planned. An excellent way to start the month. Next Saturday is my birthday, so I’m gearing up for that in the following days and trying to figure out exactly what I want to do.

Here are some things I’m thrilled about this week:

TELEVISION

oy
So I just created my calendar rundown for the month of September and man am I gonna be busy. There are a good handful of TV shows I’m excited to return and a some others that are just starting and looking promising.

I’ll post my full list of everything soon, so keep an eye out for that.

teenwolf
Teen Wolf
Really quickly I’m just going to express my feelings about this season so far.
….
WHAT THE FRAK?!?!!? Teen Wolf, why you gotta play with my emotions like this? And will you please just explain Parrish? I need to know who/what/how he is. Like asap. It’s pretty much the main reason I’m still watching.

BOOKS

abandon
Abandon | By Meg Cabot
A couple weeks ago, the AdultBooklr tumblr page asked for suggestions on Mythology and Fairy Tale reccomendations, the first one to come to my head was this book. Ever since I suggested it, I have had this hankering to read it. I checked out my local library’s digital catalog and found this book on audio book and immediately put it in my cart for check out. I really enjoy this audio book, it’s great for my drives to and from work. Abandon is a modern retelling of the story of Persephone and Hades, and Meg Cabot is my favorite author of all time. The combination of the two, is extraordinary.

novice
The Novice | By Taran Matharu
This book has been rolling around in my purse for MONTHS. I need to just sit down and finish it but I keep getting distracted by stuff. It seems really good and I really want to give it a good shot.

FOOD

amishbread
Amish Friendship Bread
I don’t really like to cook, but I really love to bake. My supervisor at work brought some of this bread along with some starter bags for this Amish Friendship Bread that I just devoured. The best part about this is that it’s pretty simple. You get the starter, follow the directions (9/10 days you just squish, squash and mush the bag and let out the air) and on the last day you combine the final ingredients and split it up into another three bags for some friends. And let me tell you, it’s AMAZING! So moist and sweet. <3

COMICS

aos
Agents of SHIELD | Issue 1
I picked up this comic because I found a Skottie Young variant of it… I know. It really is becoming a problem. BUT, the comic is actually really good. I’ll be working on a review for Comics Recap in the next few days. Meanwhile, check out the other awesome articles being posted over there.

BEAUTY

purplehair1
On Friday my amazing stylist friend is going to do something to my hair that I’ve been contemplating for YEARS. PURPLE. Now due to my job, I can’t go all over purple, so we’re going to do a purple shadowbox underneath and dark on top. I’M SO EXCITED FOR SOMETHING NEW!!! This will be most daring hair color I’ve ever done (I know, at 26… that’s a little sad).
